Print Instructions

Browser Settings

For the Veterans Energy Pipeline printed pages to look their best, some browser print options need to be set: background images must be turned on, and the browser's headers and footers need to be turned off. Instructions for Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox follow. These options will be saved by the browser, so they usually only need to be set once. Note that for the output to print correctly, you need to use the red PRINT button on the web page, instead of the browser's Print menu.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open the Tools menu by clicking on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
  2. Select Print > Page setup...
  3. In the Page Setup dialog box:
    1. Check the "Print Background Colors and Images"
    2. Select "-Empty-" for all the header and footer options. (You may wish to choose a page numbering option.)
    3. Click OK.
  4. Click the red PRINT button, then proceed as usual.

Chrome

In Chrome, the print preview with the necessary options opens by default when you click the red PRINT button.

  1. Click PRINT.
  2. Click "More settings" towards the bottom of the Print dialog on the left side.
  3. Look for two checkboxes next to Options:
    1. Uncheck "Headers and footers"
    2. Check "Background graphics"
  4. Click Print.

Firefox

  1. Open the main menu by clicking on the menu icon (three bars) in the upper right corner of the browser window.
  2. Click "Print."
  3. Click "Page Setup..."
  4. Check the "Print Background (colors & images)" box on the "Format & Options" tab.
  5. Select the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab.
  6. In the "Headers & Footers" section, choose "--blank" for all the items. (You may wish to choose a page numbering option.)
  7. Click "OK."
  8. Click "Close."
  9. Click the red PRINT button, then proceed as usual.
